BMB is an application developed internally by the Department of Social Affairs and Intergenerational Support (GS5) in cooperation with the Department of State Administration/Information Technology (LAD1-IT) and has been in live operation since the beginning of 2026. This was based on a recommendation from the State Audit Office to create a controlling instrument for social planning.
The new application, "Support Management for People with Disabilities BMB," manages all approved and contracted placements in facilities for people with disabilities.
Primarily, it allows for daily queries regarding available and occupied placements, as well as the prioritization of urgent cases through targeted management of waiting lists. Based on the collected data, reports and statistics can be generated at the touch of a button. These can serve as a control mechanism for cooperation between the Office of the Lower Austrian State Government, the district administrative authorities, and the legal entities providing support for people with disabilities. The application was designed to enable potential use in different departments.
