digiMENTORING: Municipalities on the path to a digital future

digiMENTORING was a program of the state of Lower Austria that supported municipalities in their digital development. Following an application phase, a jury selected eight participating municipalities from the submissions. For six months, they worked with experienced mentors on individual digitization projects – in a practical, solution-oriented, and future-proof manner. The goal was to analyze the municipality's digital status, identify needs, develop roadmaps, improve administrative processes, and initiate concrete projects. This benefited both municipal administrations and citizens, for example, through simpler procedures and better digital services. The individual mentoring approach was innovative: Each municipality developed implementable solutions based on its own starting point, serving as a model for other municipalities. The program was coordinated by the Office for Digitization and Innovation of the State of Lower Austria within the framework of digiGEMEINDE. The program ran from September 2025 to February 2026.
