digiWERKSTATT: Practical solutions developed at the community hackathon

The digiWERKSTATT was Lower Austria's municipal hackathon, held on November 19 and 20, 2025, at the House of Digitalization in Tulln. Interdisciplinary teams worked for 33 hours on specific problems previously submitted by Lower Austrian municipalities. From these problems, they developed initial digital prototypes and solutions. Participants included municipalities, students, municipal employees, and IT experts from Lower Austrian companies. Innovative methods such as service design were employed to better understand user needs and develop practical solutions. Projects included prototype solutions for energy accounting, market organization, invoicing processes, water supply, and task management. The approach was innovative because public administration, universities, and businesses collaborated on real-world municipal challenges in a short period of time.
