With the nationwide Austrian initiative "Digital Everywhere," free digital workshops were brought directly to communities in Lower Austria. This allowed citizens to acquire practical digital skills close to home and in familiar surroundings. Topics included internet safety, digital government services, education for seniors, living with increasing digitalization, and artificial intelligence. It is particularly gratifying that this opportunity was very well received in Lower Austria: As of the beginning of 2026, a total of 937 workshops took place in 237 municipalities, with 9,603 participants. This demonstrates the high level of interest in accessible digital education at the local level. The program was federally funded as part of the Digital Skills Initiative, and the municipalities organized the workshops locally for their residents. The project serves as a best-practice example of uncomplicated, citizen-oriented digital education.
