Digital healthcare in Lower Austrian hospitals - An outlook

Using a patient case study, the project demonstrates how digital solutions are being used in a networked manner in Lower Austrian hospitals, from the emergency room to aftercare. This optimizes processes, supports medical decisions, and improves patient care.

Our video not only tells the moving story of Mr. Gruber, who suddenly finds himself in a medical emergency – it also showcases a range of digital solutions that are already in use or currently being planned and implemented in the hospitals of the Lower Austrian State Health Agency. From the very first emergency call, modern technologies work together seamlessly: Doctors receive vital information even before the ambulance arrives, findings and images are available in real time, and specialists can provide immediate support. Automated processes reduce workload and free up more time for personalized care. In the future, Mr. Gruber will stay informed and actively involved via the health portal. This digital network accompanies him through to his surgery, aftercare, and back to his family doctor. This demonstrates how digitalization gradually creates security, simplifies processes – and helps people like Mr. Gruber get back to their lives more quickly.
