Data is no longer confined to isolated "data silos," and information can be automatically aggregated. In the EU-co-funded project DS4LoReMa, the cities of Tulln, Wiener Neustadt, and Ingolstadt are collaborating with technology and research partners Mbit Solutions, 1701, FOTEC, USTP, greenventory, and INKEK on the technical, organizational, and legal prerequisites for an innovative data space. The goal is to improve decision-making in energy efficiency, irrigation management, and climate adaptation. Real-time data and AI-supported forecasts are being integrated to enable new data-driven applications and services. The Austrian Association of Municipalities is involved in the project as a strategic partner, and coordination is handled by the Lower Austrian business agency ecoplus. The project runs for 16 months (May 2025–August 2026) and is currently in the implementation and testing phase for initial digital tools.
