Independent energy advice anytime - JUNE - AI-powered energy advice chatbot for Lower Austria

The chatbot JUNE is an AI-supported information and service offering from the energy consultancy of Lower Austria and was launched in November 2025. The project aims to provide citizens with 24/7, easily accessible information on energy efficiency, renovation, heating systems, and funding opportunities. JUNE reduces the burden on telephone consultations, improves accessibility, and ensures that frequently asked questions are answered quickly, consistently, and clearly.

The project is considered innovative because it is the first in Austria to combine generative AI with a verified knowledge base for energy consulting, thus representing a best-practice example of transparent, secure, and technically accurate AI applications in citizen interactions.

The Lower Austrian Energy and Environment Agency, external technology partners, and the State of Lower Austria are involved in the implementation. JUNE has been operational since the end of 2025 and is continuously being expanded.
