ISI – Use Case "Kotányi Errorcam": AI-supported error detection in production processes

The ISI project developed a camera-based system for the visual monitoring of production processes. It detects errors early, automatically saves relevant images, and thus improves fault analysis and production efficiency.

The ISI project offers companies the opportunity to explore new digital technologies and adapt them to their specific needs for subsequent implementation within their businesses. In the partner's use case, a system for the visual monitoring of production processes was developed. The goal is to detect errors in production lines early and facilitate the analysis of malfunctions. The system allows cameras to be assigned to individual production lines and enables flexible configuration of recording parameters. This allows relevant production sections to be specifically monitored and recorded. If an error is detected, the corresponding recordings are automatically saved to enable rapid analysis and tracking. A graphical user interface supports the easy configuration and management of the system. Additionally, various cameras were evaluated with regard to image quality, frame rate, and connectivity options to ensure reliable data acquisition in the production environment.
