The ISI project offers companies the opportunity to explore new digital technologies and adapt them to their specific needs for subsequent implementation within their organizations. In the partner's use case, the R-Space project developed an approach for optimizing testing procedures for CubeSats – small and cost-effective satellites. By developing a digital twin, payloads can be tested in a virtual environment, thereby reducing the need for physical testing in early development phases. This saves time and money and minimizes potential sources of error. A custom-developed scripting language also enables the flexible definition of test sequences. In addition, a virtual test environment was created that simulates hardware and software and provides real-time data for analysis. The system utilizes IoT technologies and supports interfaces such as I2C, SPI, and UART, thus also allowing for integration with real hardware.
