The NO:HATE project investigates the radicalization of young people on social media, particularly on platforms like TikTok, with a focus on Lower Austria. The aim is to understand the mechanisms behind extremist content and algorithmic dissemination and to derive effective, youth-oriented prevention strategies.
The benefits lie in strengthening media literacy and in concrete measures for schools and youth centers.
The innovative aspect is the interdisciplinary and participatory approach: Technological analyses are combined with media research and co-creation with young people, resulting in practical solutions. Furthermore, for the first time, a regional focus is combined with European exchange. Research institutions, educational institutions, and the E³UDRES² network are involved.
