Everyone has AI. What is your edge?

Artificial intelligence is becoming more powerful, more affordable, and increasingly accessible to companies. Yet when everyone has access to similar models and tools, competitive advantage does not stem from the technology alone.

This is precisely where this four-hour workshop comes in. In the first part, we establish a baseline understanding: What can current AI systems actually do? Which developments are strategically relevant for companies? Where do the opportunities and limitations lie? And why doesn't more AI automatically lead to higher productivity? The second part translates this into concrete work on your own company. Together, we structure the current situation, identify strategically relevant opportunities, and prioritize potential courses of action.

In doing so, we use AI itself as a tool to structure information, develop options, and challenge assumptions. The outcome is an initial one-page AI strategy: featuring prioritized areas for action, key prerequisites, and a concrete next step for the coming 90 days.

Tailored to your company

A meaningful AI strategy looks different for a small service business than it does for a manufacturing company with several hundred employees. That is why all registered companies have the opportunity to voluntarily complete a short online questionnaire about two weeks before the workshop. Questions cover topics such as industry, company size, existing AI usage, current maturity level, and key challenges. The results inform the preparation process, ensuring that examples and strategic work align as closely as possible with the participating companies.

Two perspectives – one shared goal

Prof. Christian Schumacher conducts research and teaches strategy and artificial intelligence at the Vienna University of Economics and Business.  In the workshop, he contextualizes current developments from an academic perspective and distinguishes solid insights from hype.

Dr. Andreas Schumacher bridges the gap between research and industrial implementation. As Chief Innovation Officer at the VTU Group, he works on digitalization, AI, and organizational transformation in a practical setting.

The workshop deliberately alternates between two perspectives: what does the research show, and what does this mean in concrete terms for your company? It is suitable for companies across various industries, sizes, and levels of AI maturity. No prior technical knowledge of AI is required. Please bring your own laptop and charging cable.
