"SMART DATA + YOU" – new exhibition opening in early 2024
The House of Digitalization in Tulln looks back on a successful first year of full operation. Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner took stock at a press conference and, together with curator Markus Pargfrieder from Responsive Spaces and ecoplus Managing Director Helmut Miernicki, gave a preview of the new exhibition “SMART DATA + YOU”.
“We know that digitalization will continue to revolutionize the way companies operate. In Lower Austria, we want to be among the winners of this revolution. With the House of Digitalization, we have created a place where everyone can find inspiration on how digitalization can be used profitably. Artificial intelligence offers enormous opportunities to increase efficiency in operations and can thus also be an answer to the labor shortage. The main themes at the House of Digitalization in 2024 are therefore AI and cybersecurity, both topics that ideally complement the ‘SMART DATA + YOU’ exhibition,” explains Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner.
"SMART DATA + YOU"
The exhibition “SMART DATA + YOU” aims to bring the abstract concepts of Big Data and Smart Data to life and make them understandable through an interactive story in which visitors are personally and actively involved. “The exhibition explores the questions: Where does data originate in the world around us? And where are we ourselves a source of such data – perhaps even without being aware of it – and what happens to it then? The exhibition uses an experiential approach to show how these large volumes of data are collected and processed as ‘raw material’ so that ultimately the public can benefit. Sometimes this benefit comes at a price, which is why the protection of personal data is also addressed,” explains Markus Pargfrieder, CEO of Responsive Spaces, the company that developed the “SMART DATA + YOU” exhibition with his team.
House of Digitalization - one year in full operation
“From the very beginning, our goal has been to offer a hands-on experience of digitalization, and the new exhibition perfectly aligns with this vision. Digitalization has fundamentally changed all areas of our lives, and anyone who wants to actively shape the future must not be afraid to engage with it. The House of Digitalization offers information, training, and support,” said ecoplus Managing Director Helmut Miernicki, who can look back on a successful first year of operation.
More than 13,500 visitors attended the "Human + Machine" themed exhibition, 73 events attracted around 6,400 guests, more than 1,500 students experimented with digital high-tech tools in the FabLab, the cybersecurity roadshow reached approximately 1,200 people from business, administration, and education, and 900 businesspeople participated in the "Digitalks on Tour" workshop series – the figures speak for themselves and demonstrate that the offerings of the House of Digitalization are extremely well received by all target groups. "The House of Digitalization in Tulln has undergone a highly dynamic development in recent months and has made a name for itself beyond the borders of our state as a vibrant center for digitalization," concluded the Governor.
The exhibition “SMART DATA + YOU” will be open to visitors from February 1, 2024. A free visit slot can be booked now at www.virtuelleshaus.at.
