CUTTING-EDGE KNOW-HOW IS IN DEMAND

The current series of workshops on ‘AI in Tourism’ came to a successful end with a well-attended workshop at the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt. Numerous participants from the tourist destinations of the Vienna Woods and the Vienna Alps took advantage of the last session to learn about specific applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in tourism.
The joint training initiative by Niederösterreich Werbung, Haus der Digitalisierung and the tourist destinations in Lower Austria has established itself as a practice-oriented format. The aim is to equip tourism businesses with relevant tools and up-to-date know-how on AI-supported product development, digital marketing, content creation and automation.

‘Artificial intelligence also opens up new perspectives for tourism. It is crucial that our businesses not only keep up, but also actively shape innovation. This is exactly where this series of workshops comes in – practical, up-to-date and tailored to the reality of the companies,’ emphasises Provincial Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner.

The participating tourism regions also gave positive feedback: ‘Our businesses are facing the challenge of putting digital tools to practical use in a targeted manner. The workshops offer exactly the right framework for this – sound knowledge, mutual exchange and concrete examples of implementation,’ says Mariella Klement-Kapeller, Managing Director of Destination Wiener Alpen. Kristiane Spiegl, interim Managing Director of Destination Wienerwald, adds: ‘Today's workshop has shown how important the transfer of technology into business practice is. The high level of participation from our region speaks for the relevance and necessity of such offers.’

The content of the workshops was once again designed in collaboration with Philipp-Thomas Müller, an expert in data-based marketing and university lecturer. The focus was on current AI tools, group work on the development of innovative tourism offerings, and strategies for greater visibility on the internet.
