The "District Cybersecurity Tour," an initiative of the House of Digitalization in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of the Interior, stopped in the Gänserndorf district yesterday – and once again attracted numerous interested participants. At three different venues, a total of around 350 people learned about current threats in the digital realm and gained practical insights into effective protective measures. The tour kicked off with a presentation at the Gänserndorf Business Academy (BHAK/BHAS), where young people were made aware of topics such as password security, data protection, and the responsible use of social media. At the Gänserndorf District Authority, the focus was on organizational and technical security aspects – employees learned about current threats and prevention strategies. The tour concluded with an information session at the Gänserndorf Chamber of Commerce, where representatives from regional companies received valuable tips for protecting their businesses against cyberattacks. “Cybersecurity concerns us all – whether in schools, government offices, or businesses. Only with targeted information and the necessary awareness can we effectively address digital risks,” says Christoph Jarisch from the House of Digitalization. The district tour on cybersecurity has been running since 2023 and will reach all 24 districts in Lower Austria by the end of 2026. The goal is to strengthen digital resilience throughout the state in the long term through sound information and awareness-raising. Around 3,000 people have been reached since the start.
