When, where, and how many hours of practical experience did I gain? This information is crucial, but documenting it is often time-consuming and tedious. A new tool developed by FOTEC for the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt aims to address this.

As part of the Bachelor's degree program in General Health and Nursing Care at the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt, students must complete at least 2,325 hours of practical experience, which corresponds to approximately half of the entire degree program. A specific internship can be completed at various institutions with different departments. The other degree programs at the Faculty of Health at the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt also require a significant number of internships.

Since managing so many internships involves a considerable amount of administrative work, a simple and user-friendly solution was needed: the internship tool.

What is the internship tool?

The internship tool is a software application for students and university staff to enter and manage their internship hours.

The previously used administrative software was outdated. The new user interface is simpler and also includes an important communication tool: chat. Chat enables quick communication between students and the student administration and is also used for logging.

The ability to upload internship confirmations and reports saves time and eliminates unnecessary steps. Administrative staff can accept the documents or point out any errors to the user via chat. To ensure the fastest possible flow of information, contact persons and students are regularly notified of new chat messages via email.

Once all internships have been successfully managed, reviewed, and approved in the app, a success report is automatically generated, which the user can then print.
