Facebook LIVE Shopping Event at Thalia in the Rosenarcade

The lockdowns hit the retail sector particularly hard. During this period, we staged a live shopping event at Thalia, reaching over 30,000 additional people. Through engaging presentations of Christmas gifts, we generated sales and actively involved our employees. Live shopping means connecting with customers via live video, answering their questions, and interacting with users. The successful Thalia live shopping event reached over 30,000 people via Facebook, showcased numerous products, addressed specific user questions, and all without an additional advertising budget. Detailed preparation is crucial for success.

Lockdown, retail stores partially closed – what to do? How can I still capitalize on the Christmas season and reach new customers when my store is closed? Not an easy situation, but all the more exciting when social media exists...
 
The goal of this social media live stream was to increase online visibility and generate concrete sales. On the other hand, it's always good to be a pioneer, especially since live-stream shopping isn't yet widespread in Austria.
 
Several hundred people actively participated in the live stream, and the video subsequently reached over 30,000 people. A complete success with very little preparation time, a small media budget, and minimal manpower. We were even able to take concrete orders by phone during the stream, and afterwards we also received messages via Instagram direct messages and emails.

Especially in the future, the integration of online and offline channels will become even more crucial, and creative, engaging, and unique social media projects should be developed to address this need.
