A special digitalization network format, the “Zukunftsheuriger” (Future Tavern), provides a platform for discussions on current and future digital trends. Yesterday, a Zukunftsheuriger on the topic of “How are communities becoming digital?” took place in Tulln. The agenda included examples of companies that offer applications for communities and good practices from municipalities that are making their work areas smarter with digital tools.
The municipalities of Neuhaus in Carinthia and the city of Tulln presented themselves as examples of innovative municipalities. Regina Wiedl from the municipality of Neuhaus reported on the “Smart City Project” and the forward-looking cooperation with research institutions. Robert Gutscher from the city of Tulln contributed experience reports on “Internet of Things” applications.
Martin Buber from Microtronics presented impressive applications that can address problems caused by heavy rainfall and resulting flooding, which have been recognized with the Lower Austria Innovation Award: an example of how innovative digital tools can address the challenges of climate change. Stefan Maier from the “Innovative Public Procurement” platform highlighted opportunities for SMEs to drive innovation forward in collaboration with public procurement.
Formats such as the Zukunftsheuriger offer the Lower Austria Digitalization Network an important platform for exchanging ideas and further developing innovative projects. In order to make SMEs in particular aware of the advantages of digitalization, the House of Digitalization is currently focusing on the following areas, which are supported by a series of workshops:
