The "She & AI" initiative focuses on how artificial intelligence can be used responsibly, critically, and strategically – in business, education, and the design of new working environments. The focus on women is a conscious and strategic decision: Although women are present in many areas of AI application today, they remain underrepresented along the value chain – particularly in research, development, and leadership. At the same time, this perspective significantly shapes how AI is used in everyday life, what questions are asked, and which applications are prioritized. Against this backdrop, the need is growing for formats that enable exchange on equal footing, create visibility, and provide targeted space for networking, practical application, and the exchange of experiences.
"AI is one of the key technologies of our time. If we want this development to be fair, responsible, and in the best interests of people, then broad participation is needed – and women who actively contribute their perspectives and strengths. The high demand shows how strong the interest and willingness to do so are in Lower Austria," emphasizes Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner.
"The program offers a concise and high-caliber overview of key issues for the future. In her keynote address, Julia Eisner of Women in AI Austria will focus on AI expertise as a crucial factor for a sovereign and competitive future. Three panel discussions will then explore the topics of "New Work: Humans and Machines in the Workplace," "Education & AI: Skills for Tomorrow," and "Governance & Ethics."
"The economy needs people who understand and can apply new technologies. It is particularly important for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to develop expertise early on. With 'SHE & AI,' we are creating a framework in which women can gain practical insights and network with female experts and entrepreneurs," said Wolfgang Ecker, President of the Lower Austrian Chamber of Commerce (WKNÖ).
“With our programs, we want to encourage women to actively use technology, critically examine it, and take concrete steps in their businesses,” emphasize Lukas Reutterer and Claus Zeppelzauer, Managing Directors of the ecoplus House of Digitalization.
Special thanks go to the participating networks and partners who support the program and contribute their expertise: ACP, Women in Business, the Lower Austrian Chamber of Commerce, Women in AI Austria, Austria’s Energy Power Women, Future.Women, Microsoft, and the RIZ startup agency. They make a significant contribution to making AI skills visible, accessible, and practical.
Immediately after the event, the House of Digitalization will provide participants and participating networks with the current Microsoft and Founders training program “AI Skills 4 Woman” as an on-demand video series. In addition, a new workshop format, “GenAI in Everyday Business – Workshop Exclusively for Women,” will launch, along with further events under the title “YOU and AI,” at the ecoplus technology park locations in cooperation with the Lower Austrian Chamber of Commerce.
