Asset tracking refers to the automatic tracking of products and goods of all kinds inside and outside factories, sometimes across the entire supply chain. With the help of such tracking systems, it is possible to improve the efficiency of production processes and maintain an overview of increasingly networked value chains.
The LogiTRAAK project makes the benefits of asset tracking tangible and works with companies to develop use cases and prototypical solutions. LogiTRAAK is also developing a process model that can be used to estimate the advantages of a new solution and the risks associated with it. Using asset tracking to produce in a more environmentally and socially responsible manner is also a key focus of the project.
LogiTRAAK develops track & trace technologies that enable companies to optimize their production processes. In addition to determining which technologies are most suitable for specific applications and how the resulting data can be used, the focus is also on aspects such as cost-effectiveness and sustainability. In detail, it examines how asset tracking:
LogiTRAAK highlights the possibilities for using asset tracking. As part of the project, Austrian companies gain comprehensive insight into the technology and learn how they can use it to improve their business processes. LogiTRAAK has a broad focus and considers aspects such as production, logistics, and supply chain management. In addition, through close cooperation with and between the corporate partners, it promotes the exchange of knowledge through cross-learning effects. Each partner company receives a functional prototype for a specific application in the field of asset tracking. However, they are not only provided with technical know-how. They also learn more about national and international guidelines such as the EU Green Deal, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and supply chain due diligence.
