Excessive concentrations of hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) in sewage systems are not only noticeable due to unpleasant odors, but can also lead to severe irritation of the mucous membranes and corrosion of metal components and concrete within the sewer system. Costly excavation and repair work is the result. Chemicals can be used to control the H₂S concentration.
Development of a portable measuring device, also suitable for ATEX environments, that records gas concentrations. This allows for precise determination of chemical dosage and documentation of their effectiveness. Furthermore, the measured values form the basis for fully automated chemical dosing.
The portable measuring device myDatasensH2S is designed for use in sewage systems to record and transmit H2S concentration. Measurement data can be accessed via app or online portal. The device is certified for use in ATEX Zone 1 (hazardous areas).
