Selecting a Vendor

The Univention Corporate Server serves as the foundation, central identity management system, and portal for all services. Email and groupware are provided by Kopano Collaboration Suite, file sharing is offered by Nextcloud, Office documents can be edited online with OnlyOffice, the chat solution is provided by Rocket.Chat, and video conferencing is implemented with Jitsi.
The integrated solution – the Univention Portal
All the aforementioned vendors are integrated into the central Univention Portal. This is the central hub where users can launch their programs and services. A single login and password grants access to the desired service. All data and information are available regardless of platform or location. The portal can also be extended with custom services and apps.
Full data access between services
It is crucial that data is available for every service. For example, an Office document can be created in Nextcloud and edited simultaneously by another user. A photo from Rocket.Chat can be saved to Nextcloud and inserted into the document online. The document can then be easily attached to an email and sent – all without any downloading or uploading.
