Public transport revolution: LISA.Tulln launches

With "LISA.Tulln," a completely new mobility service is being launched in Lower Austria. This pilot project, a collaboration between the state, the city of Tulln, the Eastern Region Transport Association, and the House of Digitalization, rethinks mobility and provides regional solutions to current mobility challenges.

The so-called first and last mile in Tulln is being expanded, in addition to cycling, car sharing, and public transport options, primarily with the addition of the flexible "LISA.Shuttle."

"Flexible and diverse mobility options are an essential contribution to meeting people's needs," emphasizes Provincial Councillor for Mobility Ludwig Schleritzko: "The greatest achievement of this project is the 'LISA.Shuttle.' These fully electric on-demand shared taxis can be booked up to 30 minutes before the desired trip via app or telephone. With around 50 pick-up points, we are creating maximum flexibility and reliability for passengers. For example, they can travel from Tullnerfeld train station to the city of Tulln or to the House of Digitalization without needing their car," summarizes Councillor Schleritzko.

Traditional public transport services are route- and timetable-bound and therefore based on fixed travel times. This resulted in waiting times, for example, when changing trains in Tullnerfeld, but also within Tulln itself. With the new LISA.Shuttle, you can now travel flexibly and directly from A to B, exactly when you want. The LISA.Shuttle is an electric vehicle and can be used at the standard VOR fare. It costs the same as buses and trains, or is free with season tickets such as the Klimaticket. This makes public transport even easier, faster, and more attractive for everyone. Booking the shuttle is made possible by the new "VOR Flex" app. This app is available for download now and requires a one-time registration.

"With the introduction of 'LISA.Tulln,' Tulln will launch an attractive mobility service in 2023 that intelligently combines scheduled services, on-demand shuttles, shared mobility options, active mobility, modern infrastructure, and digitalization at central mobility hubs," summarizes Tulln's Mayor Peter Eisenschenk.

“We will transport our customers to their destination flexibly, directly, and quickly, with extremely attractive operating hours and at the usual VOR fare,” emphasizes Wolfgang Schroll, VOR Managing Director. “Furthermore, we are delighted to have gained an experienced partner in Dr. Richard for the operation of the ‘LISA.Shuttle.’”
