Contaminant Scanner and AI Trainers for Clean Waste
Brantner Digital Solutions GmbH in Krems an der Donau focuses on digitalization, AI, sensor technology, and robotics. Since brown bins often contain items that don't belong in organic waste, a contaminant scanner was developed. This scanner uses a camera to take photos of the contents as they are emptied. These photos are then analyzed in real time by AI to identify trained objects, such as PET bottles or plastic bags, determining whether the waste can be immediately processed at the premium composting facility or requires further treatment. This has not only created a fantastic tool but also new jobs, for example, for AI trainers.
