SoniGait is a biofeedback system that supports patients in physical therapy by making their gait behavior audible.
Smart shoe insoles with textile sensors provide real-time acoustic feedback on the rolling motion and load-bearing behavior while walking and standing.
The goal is to detect changes in the gait pattern of older people at an early stage and thus prevent injuries and falls.
SoniGait is an application example of the Audio-Visual Analytics research project at St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences in cooperation with Stapp One.
