The focus of the visit was a tour of the ‘SMART DATA + DU’ exhibition, which will run until 13 July 2025 and provides interactive and low-threshold information on topics relating to data use and data protection. The new exhibition ‘Is digital the solution? - Innovations for our future’, which will open on 5 September 2025, was also discussed. ‘The House of Digitalisation shows how digitalisation can be communicated in an understandable way and made practically applicable - especially for small and medium-sized enterprises. This is how we create added value through digitalisation,’ said State Secretary Alexander Pröll.
This was followed by a visit to the Science Centre Lower Austria, the science department of the state of Lower Austria, with its two laboratories for digital technologies and biotechnology. The programme also included the escape room ‘The Secret of the Elixir’, which conveys biotechnological content in a fun way.
The close partnership between the House of Digitalisation and the federal government's Digital Austria was highlighted during the working meeting. It creates the basis for joint projects in the areas of artificial intelligence, digital administration and raising public awareness. Future fields of action were clearly identified: The responsible use of AI agents, new cyber security requirements, a competent approach to social media and the further development of a citizen-centred and digitally supported administration. Another highlight of the day was the parallel meeting of the Federal Government's AI Advisory Board at the House of Digitalisation.
‘We are facing many challenges in the area of digitalisation, which we see as an opportunity in Lower Austria. Our focus is on providing targeted support to companies and taking people along with us in this change. This is the only way to sustainably shape digitalisation together with strong partners such as Digital Austria,’ emphasise House of Digitalisation Managing Directors Lukas Reutterer and Claus Zeppelzauer.
