St. Pölten, March 19, 2026. The final workshop in the free "AI IN TOURISM" series for businesses, held in St. Pölten, offered 22 participants the opportunity to explore concrete applications of artificial intelligence in their own day-to-day operations. The focus was on practical exercises and intensive networking.
The series previously stopped at the House of Digitalization in Tulln (February 16) and at the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt (March 2). Manuela Machner led all three workshops. With her extensive experience in the tourism industry and her comprehensive practical knowledge, she clearly demonstrated how AI can be used in everyday business. The focus was on topics such as digital guest communication, content creation, and process optimization.
Around 600 Participants
Since the launch of the free "AI IN TOURISM" training series, approximately 600 participants have taken part, with nearly 70 people attending the last three workshops alone.
Marcus Linford, Managing Director of Wienerwald Tourism, and Bernhard Schröder, Managing Director of Donau Niederösterreich Tourism, emphasize: “Artificial intelligence has long since arrived in the tourism industry and offers great potential for making processes more efficient and responding more effectively to the needs of guests. It is therefore all the more important to overcome any reservations about it.”
Lukas Reutterer, Managing Director of the House of Digitalization, says: “The high level of participation clearly demonstrates the strong interest in artificial intelligence in tourism. Many businesses primarily want to understand how they can use AI in practice. This is precisely where our practical formats come in.”
Mario Burger, Chairman of the St. Pölten District Office of the Lower Austrian Chamber of Commerce (WKNÖ), adds: “With the ‘AI IN TOURISM’ workshops, we are specifically strengthening the digital competence of marketing managers and tourism businesses. The knowledge imparted is immediately applicable and contributes to securing the industry’s long-term competitiveness.”
