The ecoplus House of Digitalisation can look back on a successful first half of 2024. The services offered to businesses were very well received, and the new exhibition ‘SMART DATA + DU’ attracted numerous visitors to the House of Digitalisation in Tulln. ‘An important focus at the House of Digitalisation is on raising awareness and providing information about developments in the field of digitalisation, both for businesses and for the general public. Our House of Digitalisation has a deliberately dual focus, as this ensures that both the people of the province and small and medium-sized enterprises can benefit from the digital transformation,’ explains Provincial Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner.

Interested Lower Austrians of all ages can immerse themselves in the world of digitalisation as part of an annually changing exhibition. Since the beginning of the year, the exhibition ‘SMART DATA + DU’ has been delighting visitors to the House of Digitalisation in Tulln. The interactive exhibition focuses on the creation and use of data while also raising awareness of data protection. Since its opening on 1 February 2024, around 6,500 people have visited the exhibition.

Furthermore, a total of 37 events with 2,823 visitors to date were held at the House of Digitalisation in the first half of 2024. The FabLab on the first floor of the House of Digitalisation has also been well received. Around 1,500 participants gained insights into digital technologies such as 3D printing and virtual reality (VR).

Support for SMEs

In 2024, the House of Digitalisation will continue to focus strongly on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in their digital transformation. Various workshop formats were offered to accompany companies on their journey into the digital future.

For example, the House of Digitalisation is offering workshops on the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in 2024. So far, 165 company representatives have been reached in six ‘prompting half-day workshops’. Another six workshops are planned. The successful ‘Digitalks on Tour’ event series, in cooperation with the Province of Lower Austria and the Lower Austrian Chamber of Commerce, is also proving popular in 2024. Two events have already reached 231 people, with another three planned.

Focusing on cyber security, the ‘District Cyber Security Tour’ in cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior and other partners has so far informed 500 people at two events. Two further events are planned. Together with Lower Austria Tourism, the workshop series ‘AI for Tourism Businesses’ has so far reached around 160 representatives of tourism businesses at eight events. Five further events will follow.

At the Digital Innovation Hub Lower Austria/Vienna/Burgenland, or DIHOST for short, three workshops on the topic of ‘AI in Trade & Commerce’ took place in the first half of the year. Another six workshops are in the planning stage.

A total of around 730 company representatives were reached through various SME workshops and formats with in-person events. The House of Digitalisation is being implemented by ecoplus as part of ecoplus Digital GmbH. ‘The first half of the year clearly shows that we are on the right track with our offerings. Companies are showing great interest in the workshops on digitalisation, and our awareness measures are also in high demand,’ say Claus Zeppelzauer and Lukas Reutterer, managing directors of the House of Digitalisation.
