Previously, the testing process for manufactured equipment was carried out without the support of mixed reality.
This use case focuses on supporting the testing process for manufactured equipment. Using augmented reality, a virtual image (3D model) of the equipment is projected onto the actual equipment. This model must be manually aligned, scaled, and rotated. The testing process then begins, and the parts to be tested are processed step by step. At each step, the required part is visually highlighted in the virtual system.
The overall project, "Mixed Reality Based Collaboration 4 Industry," resulted from the collaboration of 22 companies and five scientific institutions from Lower Austria, Vienna, and Upper Austria (St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences, Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences Steyr Campus, FOTEC, IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems, and Vienna University of Technology).
