Previously, training courses for assembling geared motors at Lenze were conducted without mixed reality.
Based on a teaching and learning concept, a training scenario for assembling geared motors was implemented. In the final version, the model can be visualized and assembled (following the teaching concept). The development work focused on intuitive usability and the realistic representation of the CAD data. Based on feedback from Lenze, the application was revised and improved in several iterations.
The following features were integrated:
The Unity project was prepared for release (to project participants and as open source): The code was commented, and components were replaced with freely available alternatives.
Here you can find a video about the project implementation.
The overall project "Mixed Reality Based Collaboration 4 Industry" was a collaboration between 22 companies and five scientific institutions from Lower Austria, Vienna, and Upper Austria (St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences, Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences Steyr Campus, FOTEC, IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems, and Vienna University of Technology).
