Voice-controlled product search in e-commerce
Background
Together with high-caliber speakers such as Moritz Rudolph (Google Dublin), Rudolf Pretzl (Austrian Airlines), and Julia Ramsmaier (online marketing specialist), the future of online retail was discussed on March 29th in Wieselburg during the myProduct.at Convention 2019. In addition to numerous expert presentations on the topic of digitalization, the event offered an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the largest online retailer for products from Austrian small producers. As a highlight of the event, the innovative company from Lower Austria presented the brand-new voice functionality at myProduct.at. Customers can now communicate directly with the online shop using voice commands. They can conveniently search the selection of over 8,000 regional products or, if desired, even ask about the weather.
Result
The innovation behind it: Unlike the technologies of major industry giants, this is all possible directly through the browser without an additional device! Currently, the innovative voice functionality is still in the learning phase and is activated via the Chrome browser. Support for other browsers and functionalities will follow soon. “We want to make shopping at regional small-scale producers as easy as possible, so why not simply talk to the online shop, just like you would to a salesperson in a store? With our solution, this is now possible – just try it out,” says Rainer Neuwirth, Managing Director of myProduct.at.
